This am two of Gandi's peering locations from Paris dropped, and began to "flap", or come up and go down again rapidly. As the routes were re-calculated, our core switches became quite busy for a few minutes, slowing down transport. Some customers reported an interruption in service.
The peering locations stabilized and our routers followed soon after. The entire incident lasted slightly less than 20 minutes.
Our teams noticed the issue and decided to allow the automated systems to recover without intervention, which they did. No hosted systems were taken offline, but connectiviity was interrupted for some customers.
Some email mailboxes are not responding following an incident on one of our filers
Since 13:30 Paris time (Thursday October 11) one of our Mail filers stopped responding on the network. This impacted about 3% of our email mailboxes by preventing their being accessed by POP/IMAP. No email has been lost, and it is still possible to send mail. Our teams have resolved this issue, and service back to normal.
As always, we will keep you informed of this incident in this news article.
Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused.
We are going to proceed with an unscheduled maintenance on one of our databases, due to an incident that occurred. This operation may lead to an interruption in service of about 30 minutes.
The following will be affected:
- the creation/modification/deletion of email mailboxes or email forwarding via the website or our API - the completion (on Gandi's end) of your domain name purchases - possibly Gandi's entire website for a few minutes.
Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience this may cause
We will be changing the machine that hosts the Gandi Blog database, which will lead to an interruption of the Gandi Blog service from Wednesday September 5th at midnight until around 3:00 AM Paris time (5:00 PM to 8:PM CST in America)
During the night of Tuesday the 19th to Wednesday the 20th of June 2012, we are going to interrupt the generation of DNS zones in order to perform a database modification.
This modification will notably allow inserting long records (SPF or TXT for example).
Modifications made during this time period will therefore be put on hold and will be applied only once our operation is over.
Sincerely, The technical team
