It's always with great remorse that we make this type of announcement but effective 23 January 2017, in order to comply with our contractual obligations, we have increased registration and renewal prices on 76 TLDs, on all price grids.

The reason for the price increase largely has to do with the fact that we pay most new gTLDs in US Dollars and exchange rates have recently fluctuated such that we were compelled to increase rates on affected TLDs.

Generally, we don't adjust our prices based on minor exchange rate fluctuations, however the variations this time were too significant to be able to avoid adjusting our rates. So it's out of necessity that we are notifying you of the following new rates on the following TLDs:

Taxes are not included in the above prices, which unless otherwise indicated, apply both to renewals and creations.

Besides the TLDs listed above, the following TLDs are also impacted, though only in grids B through E:

.asia, .org, .ag, .tv, .tel, .ws, .mobi:

  • Grids B and C: +10% on transfers only
  • Grids D and E: +10% on all operations

One last TLD, .biz, is also impacted but only on Grid E. The prices for all operations have been increased by 10%.

The final Donuts name collision EAP release is, in it's way, a kind of send off: Travel.

This category is all about seeing the world, having adventures, meeting people, and of course, buying things.

Of course, you can now do all of that now online, and so how fitting that it's this week's category! You can see the world on Google Images, you can have adventures virtually, you can meet people in chatrooms and you can buy whatever you want online.

And what better souvenir of this kind of online armchair tourism than a Travel domain name?

Here's the release schedule for this category:

    Day 1 (September 2, 2015 at 16:00 UTC): +$12,667

    Day 2 (September 3, 2015 at 16:00 UTC): +$4,222
    Day 3 (September 4, 2015 at 16:00 UTC): +$1,778
    Day 4 (September 5, 2015 at 16:00 UTC): +$945
    Days 5-7 (September 6-September 7, 2015 at 16:00 UTC): +$189

And here's the list of TLDs with links to the new names being released (along with the regular price once the EAP is over):

Bon voyage!

This Wednesday, 16 April, at 9am PST, two new extensions are entering General Availability.

Here they are, along with a link to the TLD pricing page and the GoLive price of a one-year registration at A rates:

As usual, once an extension enters GoLive, registrations are first-come, first-served.

If you're reading this before GoLive begins (Wednesday, 16 April at 9am PST), you can pay extra for a Landrush registration right now, or pre-register your domains at GoLive prices and we'll submit them to the registry the moment GoLive begins.

.uno and .buzz are being launched today, along with two Donuts extensions, .holiday and .marketing.

We're a little late on .uno: the Sunrise phase (which is not "first-come, first-served," as you know) is ending this week. If you have a trademark and want to register it under .uno, you have until this Friday, 7 February at 7am PST. A 30-day Landrush period will follow, lasting until General Availability begins on 19 March, 2014.

For .buzz, the Sunrise phase is underway, and will be in the Landrush phase from 18 March until 10 April, 2014. General Availability for .buzz begins 15 April.

Feeling lost? Check out yesterday's Gandibar post for an explanation of the different phases that apply to these new gTLDs.

The General Availability period for the first new TLDs is only a week away, and the rhythm of weekly Sunrise openings is in full swing. Today, the Donuts registry is offering us a bouquet of 5 new TLDs, with promises of two more next week.

And so today, Tuesday, 28 January, we welcome our five new friends:

This particularly interesting set of extensions is already available for pre-registration (or for conversion, if you've already made pre-reservations).

Next Tuesday, the Sunrise phase will begin for the following two newcomers.

You can already pre-reserve these two new TLDs using the links above.

Rendez-vous here next Tuesday for the big day!

What now?

  • Pre-registrations can be managed from the Orders in Progress page of your Gandi account. (Pre-reservations are also on your Orders in Progress page, under the Pre-reservations tab.)
  • For more information on the new TLDs in general, see this page.
