It's always with great remorse that we make this type of announcement but effective 23 January 2017, in order to comply with our contractual obligations, we have increased registration and renewal prices on 76 TLDs, on all price grids.

The reason for the price increase largely has to do with the fact that we pay most new gTLDs in US Dollars and exchange rates have recently fluctuated such that we were compelled to increase rates on affected TLDs.

Generally, we don't adjust our prices based on minor exchange rate fluctuations, however the variations this time were too significant to be able to avoid adjusting our rates. So it's out of necessity that we are notifying you of the following new rates on the following TLDs:

Taxes are not included in the above prices, which unless otherwise indicated, apply both to renewals and creations.

Besides the TLDs listed above, the following TLDs are also impacted, though only in grids B through E:

.asia, .org, .ag, .tv, .tel, .ws, .mobi:

  • Grids B and C: +10% on transfers only
  • Grids D and E: +10% on all operations

One last TLD, .biz, is also impacted but only on Grid E. The prices for all operations have been increased by 10%.

With every new gTLD that pops up it’s like a whole new frontier on the Internet has opened up. And there’s no wider opener space than .space itself.

There’s .space to move, .space to breath, .space to think, or even .space for your stuffed koala collection.

And now for a limited time, from March 15, 2016 until April 14, 2016 at 4:59 PM PDT, you .space is just $1.99 per year.

Those of you hungry for adventure may be a litlte disheartened by the fact that it seems there's little left within our collective reach to explore. It seems like the whole Earth isn't just already explored but has been sliced up into sections of a few hundred square feet that rent for a couple thousand dollars a piece per month. Where's the excitement of discovery in that?

And it's no better in cyberspace than in the meatspace. Traditional gTLDs are getting just as overcrowded and all the good domains in those gTLDs are long gone. But there's good news! Just like SpaceX's latest triumph this month is busting the next frontier open wide, another new one has opened as well. Of course, we're referring to .space: the final(ish) online frontier.

If you're itching to boldly go where no internaut has navigated before, from January 1 through January 31, 2016, .space domains will be on sale for 80% off. That means instead of paying $7.97 per year (at A rates) on a .space domain, you would instead pay $1.60 per year this month.

Seems like there's never enough .space. There's never enough personal space on a crowded bus or train, living space in cities like San Francisco, disk space on a hard drive or server space in the "cloud".

And yet somehow, there's always more space. There's the empty train behind the crowded one, there's Walnut Creek across the bay on the other side of the hills from San Francisco, there's the new eleventy terabyte hard drive, and "unlimited" server space.

With domains it's the same story: all the cool .coms and .nets are taken and new gTLDs can be pricey. But there's always more .space somewhere: from now until December 2nd at 4:00 PM PST, .space domains provide that much needed domain space for just 99¢. Not even a whole dollar.
